Students are encouraged to reflect upon, and use this theme to create original work(s) in one or more of the following categories:

Dance Choreography	Film Production
Literature	Photography
Music Composition	2D Visual Arts

Art Reflections Workshops at Beck

Afterschool workshops are primarily for brainstorming the theme and getting started on a project. Students are encouraged to work on and complete projects at home and do not need to attend a workshop in order to enter Reflections. Supplies and guidance will be available for getting started on a visual arts projects only.

October 14th 3:05-4:00 pm (K, 1st and 4th)

October 16th 3:05-4:00 pm (2nd, 3rd, and 5th)

FAQ

What is PTA Art Reflections?

Created in 1969 by a CO PTA President, the Reflections program is a way for students to have a creative outlet expressing themselves. With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.

Who can participate in Art Reflections?

Any student (K-12) who attends a school with a PTA!! That of course includes Beck Elementary! NOTE: a student must have at least ONE person from their primary household registered with Beck PTA prior to submitting their entry. Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts division or grade division most closely aligned to their support needs.

What is the theme for ART Reflections?

I Belong! This can mean something unique to each student!! Ben Morgan, the student who created this year's theme of "I Belong!" had this to say about the theme:

"I have found belonging with my family and friends. The people in my classes can also be like part of my family, even though we aren’t directly related. For me, “I Belong!” means I know where I am accepted, and I know that I can be myself there without being criticized or judged.” – Ben Morgan

What can you submit?

Dance choreography, Film production, Literature, Music composition, Photography or Visual arts (students may enter in one OR more category AND can have multiple entries in a category)

When must you submit your entry?

Entries are due at Beck Elementary by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24th, 2025 to the student's Homeroom Teacher (this varies depending on school)

When will I hear if I won?

Each entry will be judged at the local level in November and winners will be notified after that time. Winning entries will be advanced to district and winners will be contacted
